Bi-Monthly By Ryan #13

A twice monthly newsletter by Ryan Jafar Artes

Dear Friends,

If you are paying attention, I only got around to sending one newsletter last month. I will be sending three newsletters this month, to catch up with my commitment to myself and this newsletter. This works well as I have a lot going on that I would like to share with you!

  • My essay titled Letter Writing as a Spiritual Practice was published this week! I wrote this essay for the Art Saves Lives essay series curated by Seema Reza and edited by Ben Weakley, for Community Building Art Works (CBAW). CBAW is one of my favorite creative communities and I was so honored to be asked to write this piece.

  • I made the Eventbrite page with details about my next class, Holiday Letter Writing as a Spiritual Practice with Ryan Jafar Artes. I am working on a post to promote my class on social media, so stay tuned on my Instagram and Facebook pages. Please respond directly to this email to sign up for class!

  • I am co-hosting The Adoptee Open Mic @ rainboWEB as an in-person event in Baltimore on Sunday, November 10 with wren taube. Please reach out for more information if you are interested in attending. Our aim is to provide a model of non-adoptees holding adoptees, based on our friendship.

Today is the first day of November, which is also the first day of National Adoptee Awareness Month. I aim to post frequently on social media this month, in response to prompts offered by Rick Allen and Jenna Lee Kim on Instagram. Please follow along on my social media page, which are linked above in case you are not already following me.

Love, Ryan <3

A photo of the sunset along the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, PA last night. I am fortunate and honored to be able to walk to this view at the end of my block. In fact, I am preparing to do exactly that after I wrap up this message to all of you. <3
